Review: Quality Suites NYC Gateway, North Beergen NJ
A good basic hotel for those not needing the upper-crust experience.

Half way across the US to meet the Escape in New York City….glad we drove, as yesterday was quite the hassle for those flying, with heavy rainfall and flooding ini New York City. Some were delayed flying in today.
Motion detector light in the foyer: good on check-in, but evokes a 70’s song in the middle of the night. On balance: meh.
A long day on the road with still more to go. It ain’t nothin’ but a thang…

Ok, the calendar is lighter — but not THIS light! And the challenges (folly?) of doing a group trip seminar a few days before embarking on your own cruise!
Events on the calendar are starting to lighten up. You almost never see this long. Go between times that I serve at church. The Sunday morning 5:30ish alarm is already shut off 🙂
Will Hurricane Lee impact the current Escape sailing? Yes. How? I consider some options.
21 days and counting till sailaway — less than 19 days until we leave home to drive to NYC for the cruise! A quick catch up on life since the last post, and what’s coming up on this sweet fall leaf peeping tour.
Our trip to New England and Canada this fall features a mix of NCL-booked excursions and privately-booked ones. I think it worked out o a nice balance of activiites.
On a whim, I decided to see what we could come up with putting together some back-to-back (b2b) cruises. We’ll be taking three back-to-backs, going from Istanbul to Venice to Rome to Miami, in November and early December, 2024.
